Tracing Your Roots - Morning Course
9th October 2012 - for five weeks

The Institute is holding a five week morning course introducing the subject of Family History. The course is aimed at those students beginning this fascinating hobby and will cover the basic sources needed to start out on the trail of your ancestors. The course will cover both original records and internet resources. The course will be held on Tuesday mornings from 12.30am-2.00pm commencing on Tuesday, 9th October 2012

The course programme will include the following topics -

Week 1. 9th October. Family History and Family Records and Family History Charts and Pedigrees
Week 2. 16th October. Birth, Marriage and Death in General Registration
Week 3. 23rd October. 1841-1911 Census Records
Week 4. 30th October. Parish Registers
Week 5. 6th November. Wills and how to use them.
